Our lead partner mill was established in 1991 and was officially inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia — a facility with the scale, certification infrastructure, and production capacity to serve European FCL orders reliably.
Astuti & Hoffmann does not act as a passive intermediary. Our on-site European team physically inspects production batches, verifies moisture content with calibrated MC meters, and reviews grading against the buyer's specification before palletisation.

For European buyers, the greatest risk in importing timber from Southeast Asia is not the specification — it is execution. Every production batch is tested with a calibrated MC meter by our own team — not the mill's. Results are documented per pallet before shrink-wrapping. MC certificates are included in the shipping document package.
Random sampling of finished boards against buyer specifications: actual cross-section, length tolerance, surface grading, and piece count per pallet. Any non-conforming pallets are returned for regrading before loading.
Our team is physically present at container loading. We verify each pallet as it enters the container, confirm the load plan matches the packing list, and apply the container seal ourselves. Loading photos and a GPS-stamped container loading report are sent to the buyer within 24 hours.
All pallets are labelled with species, dimensions, grade, MC result, piece count, and batch number — in English, compliant with EU import requirements. "Made in Indonesia" marking on all packages. Heat-treated (HT) packaging material with ISPM-15 marking.
A comprehensive pre-shipment photo report — including graded stock, pallet labels, container loading sequence, and sealed container — is sent to the buyer before the Bill of Lading is issued. You see what you are paying for, before you pay.

We recommend a structured Telegraphic Transfer (T/T) payment arrangement that protects both parties — the buyer retains control over payment until pre-shipment documentation is received, while we retain control of the goods until payment is confirmed. This eliminates the most common financial risks in international timber trade.
Bank-to-bank wire transfer in EUR. Our recommended structure: 50% deposit upon order confirmation + 50% balance upon receipt of pre-shipment photo report, packing list, and draft Bill of Lading — before the container is released to the shipping line.
Before the 50% balance is due, you will have received: photographic container loading report, pre-shipment packing list with piece count and MC results, draft Packing List and Commercial Invoice, and V-Legal/SVLK certificate reference. You verify what is in the container before it leaves our hands.
Once the 50% balance is confirmed, original shipping documents are released: original Bill of Lading, original Certificate of Origin, Phytosanitary Certificate, and V-Legal/SVLK Certificate — the complete set required for EU customs clearance and EUDR operator submissions.
